Very rare to see Gerry and the Pacemakers playing these songs live. How Do You Do It when played live here is already 10 years old. I think this band folded in the mid 60's so this 1973 performance is ultra weird.

This is basic goodtime music to bring you back from hours of watching world news on tv today.RIP. Gerry Marsden, Thanks for the music.😀

Can't believe 1963 was ONLY 10 years from this performance when the British Invasion was in full force. Special thanks to Gerry and the Pacemakers for performing live in Oakland, CA (at the Oakland Auditorium) during the 1960's. I believe they were the only "invasion" band to do so

We saw Gerry in Skegness Butlins not long before he died. He was great, and had the whole room singing along. Class is permanent, and it didn't matter the size of the venue. He always came across as a nice man, and a top performer.

I think that's Billy Kinsley, lead singer of Liverpool Express on the bass.He joined The Pacemakers after they reformed in 1972.It's great to see this.I liked Liverpool Express.Thank you for sharing.

This is an interesting video because you don’t run across many videos of Gerry and the Pacemakers or Gerry Marsden singing after the 60s ended. Even seeing him with longer hair is fairly rare. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him with hair this long. The only thing that felt a bit odd about this was that they weren’t singing new songs in this 1973 performance, they were still singing old songs…which looked a bit silly. It pretty much said, “This is all we’ve got!“ It would be like seeing The Beatles in 1973 and they come out and sing, “I Want to Hold Your Hand”. Umm…no, that doesn’t work. Oh well, even so…I still loved this! 😊

In the time of David Bowie and Alice Cooper, these songs must have really seemed alien.👽

This is kind of comical. Never saw the dude with long hair until this. But same great voice and infectious stage presence.
I still have their '65 greatest hits album, my very first album buy at 11 years old. R.I.P. Gerry.

The bass player would become the leader of the band "LIverpool Express" a bit later.

Does anybody know if the backing band is the original pacemakers but they look a little too young to be the original hit makers and there was a chubby guy in the band that doesn’t seem to be there
