I like that they kept the satisfying, clacky sound of the butterfly switches. That was one of the only good things about them.

It would make sense if they implement Face ID into the MacBooks.

I'm really hoping that they bring the keyboard updates to the rest of their MacBook line. I'd like a 13" (14"?) MacBook Pro with a better keyboard.

Just tried the new Macbook Pro 16". The keyboard is better, but still not to my liking. Should have just gone back to 2012 to 2015 keyboard. Still sucks to type on without making a lot of errors.

Why in the hell do reviewers feel the need to type so damn hard when showing the keyboard loudness? No one types like that. It’s giving a false example of the true noise level

I think this keyboard is key in making me want to upgrade 👍

Guess the only real fix for older models is getting a new MacBook Pro 16 for now. The replacement is only a temp fix.

I don't know what is wrong with many reviewers of this MacBook Pro 16's keyboard selling this as a fixed issue. I upgraded from a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro and it really feels horrible the keyboard. The typing is still hard and noisy. They failed again, the button have still low travel.

Finally someone that adresses the travel distance between old and older macbooks. Thumbs up

I actually prefer the feel of the Butterfly mechanism, but the reliability is a big turn off. I love the click clack that the butterfly made and the shorter travel distance allowed for faster typing. But I guess splitting the difference is a good compromise

Why did apple even bother to ruin the keyboard? I'm not stuck with a $2, 500 macbook pro from last year with a butterfly keyboard because my old macbook died. I wish they never changed it or went with the latest design. Ugh

“It is more reliable...” 3:15. You have no clue if it’s more reliable yet.

Andrew, I appreciated your video, but is typing on it the same as the Space Gray Magic Keyboard (A1843)? That keyboard I know has more key travel than 2016 and newer MBP's, but it still has less key travel than wired Apple keyboards from 2007 (e.g., A1243, aluminum body, white keys). I still use an A1243 with a 27" 5K 2015 iMac at the office and love it, and I recently purchased an A1843 for home use to replace my Matias, and I find the key travel is only barely acceptable. Again, the key travel for MacBooks after 2016 have been less than 1mm, which I find totally unacceptable, so I am trying to determine if the 16" MBP keyboard key travel matches that of the A1843 or if it's less. If less, then I would not find it acceptable. Thanks.

I’d be interested to see a full benchmarking with the i7 and i9 CPU’s like you did a while back. I think since Apple claimed improvements in the cooling solutions we need to get our hands on some solid data to know if it makes sense to justify dropping another $300 on an already hella expensive machine. Or at least comment on that somehow.

My late 2019 16" macbook pro keyboard still fails. I have 4 keys that are broken and apple is charging me $770 to replace it with not guarantee that it will not happen again.

Question, was Jonny Ive holding back Apple? I don’t know if I am being unfair, but since he has left there have been a lot of common sense updates in Apple products that pushed products from good to great.

Happy that the "poison Ivy* keyboard is finally out-the-door!

Thanks! I have a 2016 and I’m looking at the most current models. My bothers are the battery life and the fans always going off and the sharp edges that can cut your finger. Also I know gaming isn’t great on it.
