0:06 technically, luffy can be considered "a son" to roger as well. although ace is roger's biological son, luffy is ace's sworn brother, like sabo is as well. it's same to the concept where a parent considers their child's very very close friend as their own child as well due to them being so close.

going with this logic, roger's "sons" are absolute units composed of: (a) sabo, the chief of staff of THE revolutionary army, (b) ace, his own son was a top commander of a disgustingly powerful pirate crew of an emperor (whitebeard), and of course (c) luffy, the future pirate king who literally took down an emperor and escaped the clutches of another.

I don't think Roger pirates ever find 'one piece ' the only thing they learn in laugh tale was about true history of void century. When crocus and Rayleigh were asked about one piece they said it might be there on laugh tale that's why Roger said they came very early. Suddenly shanks decided to go for one piece after 20 makes total sense that Roger pirates never found one piece.
