Okay but let's appreciate how we can see Green gradually learning the rules of this universe.
•Woodland: Tries communicating "verbally", has to learn to use music to communicate.
•Cave: Communicates with music, has to learn to match the style.
•Village: Communicates with a matched style, has to learn to sing.
•Desert: Green doesn't really learn anything here but I want to shout out how you can *_hear_* the growing desperation in the Wandering Trader's voice as he's rejected.
•All culminating in the emotional climax at the mountain.

One interesting thing I noticed is that Purple specifically selected this universe, whereas everyone was panicking and rushing to Portals because the Black hole was destroying everything, Purple deliberately ran towards this Portal, now, this could mean that it was because there wasn't anyone in the way to it, or because this Universe is his safe space in some way, or just a place he likes going to, if you guys noticed, Green had to learn how to sing with the villagers, but there is no depiction of Purple learning it as he goes, meaning that perhaps he came here before more than a few times, him knowing a way to sing that is unique to him, the violin, could mean that he even got to the point of honing his skills here, whereas Green was just doing what the other entities did, using the note block and the lever, and finally acquiring a singing voice by hanging out with the villagers

I find this interesting because when Green arrives, there is a childishness to this universe, something you'd see in a kids' tv show, maybe a toddler watching it is a vision you could have, to me this shows how Purple is a kid or a teenager, whereas King, who is bigger than the other stick figures, is an adult, the only adult we see in this series actually.

Idk, just something I took notice of, maybe I'm wrong about it but I thought it was interesting

This went from just a simple stick figure destroying his pc to a storyline with lore and has all the features of a movie, betrayal, sadness, adventure, and action which makes this a great series. My respects Alan, you deserve a Netflix show

What I noticed is that when Green as chasing Purple, he was only questioning them. He wasn’t shaming or booing Purple at all, just asking questions, wanting to know why Purple did the things they did, and the same questions that we, the audience, have. Green is usually shown to be the more calm type, and that helps in his friendships. It went to the point that Purple just decided to open up to him already. Green wasn’t expecting anything from Purple unlike how their father (Navy?) did, and plus Purple probably didn’t have much experience of just being a normal friend as well. So they decided to finally say it. They finally found someone who’d accept Purple for who they are. Wholesome ending :)

I genuinely cannot believe this is 13 minutes, it felt so much longer than that
This was perfectly executed, and so well made, even made me shed a tear
God tier episode

I've been teaching music for 10 years. My son showed me this out of joy and oh my goodness, i am left with no words, this was so unexplainable and the story line was just unbelievable, this is just an amazing animation. Good job Alan, you have made your generation proud.

purple's redemption is unironically one of the best i have ever seen in all of fiction and it's one of the reasons they're my favourite character. having the usual "my dad abused me as a kid" backstory but then it's revealed that he is still looking for his dad to prove he can be a warrior, him looking up to king and being betrayed, him gaining the courage to fight against him and realising he doesn't need to be good or evil, just himself.... perfection.

"I have lots o' flowers that can woo-oork as a hat"

"Now!"
"You can't deny the usage of my bus-iness!"

Alan Becker is a remarkable storyteller. Conveying a story not through words but through elements of a pre-existing particle that was used differently than intended. Truly one of the best examples of “Show Not Tell” and he already did this with the many other animations revolving around the same characters and artstyle he’d done before.

Who knew Minecraft noteblocks could create an amazing backstory. Can’t wait for the finale.

Two things I noticed about this universe and story.

First off, Purple is already capable of singing and understands this universe while Green had to learn, meaning that not only is he the only one besides Green who is able to sing, but this is probably not his first time coming to this universe. He's been here multiple times. Secondly, none of the mobs in this universe are hostile, not even the zombies in the cave. They don't attack Green for being an anomaly or not being able to communicate with them, and even teach him. They all literally just vibe. This is an EXTREMELY peaceful universe that's full of life and colour, and resembles something out of a kid's cartoon, something nice and innocent, and after we learn Purple's backstory, it makes perfect sense why he ran here. This is probably his safe space where he doesn't need to think about his past, and would also explain why he didn't 'conquer' this universe. He doesn't bother any of the creatures living here because he genuinely likes this universe and doesn't want to destroy his one safe place.

GOD Purple's character is amazing.

This guy made an entire musical show using stick figures and Minecraft notes. Can someone PLEASE get this man every single art award. Good lord, where do you get these creative and amazing ideas? This series evolved from something so simple and fun, to incredibly deep, thoughtful, and downright brilliant story telling.

11:55 This scene is so good, Purple finally puts down his mistakes and trauma behind, knowing what's the right thing to do, and says to himself, "I'm the good guy now!"
But Green wipes out the halo on his head, it's like saying to him, "You are not a bad guy nor a good guy, you are just you, and there's nothing wrong about you."

7:33 gave me the exact same vibes as Zuko's "I'm angry at myself!" from the ATLA beach episode. You can feel the conflict inside of purple. It's so expertly well done.

Never once have i seen someone encapsulate the Wandering Traders personality so well. You can practically understand what hes saying even though theres no words, its genuinely incredible how groovy and understandable that scene was.

I really like the detail that when Purple says he is bad, Green "tells" him that he doesn't have to be good or bad, he just has to be himself, and being yourself means making mistakes, but making mistakes doesn't make us bad. That's what Purple needed, to know that making mistakes didn't make him a bad person, a terrible bad person with no chance of being forgiven, and that no one would abandon him when he made a mistake. And in the same way, you shouldn't expect yourself to be "good, " because, in the end, no one is ever completely "good." Plus, Purple was probably just a kid or preteen when his mom died and his dad abandoned him. He was very young and had to deal alone with very complex feelings and emotions that he had never encountered before. The fact of not having experience managing his feelings and emotions, in addition to being very young, was one of the reasons why he made bad decisions. He didn't know how to handle himself in that situation, because it seemed like he had no one to help him. (Bad english i'm sorry)

7:57 The EMOTION in this whole song is just beautiful. I never in my life would have guessed i would feel so strongly about a stick figure "singing" about his past. You can just hear his feelings in every note. The necessity to please his father, to be better than everyone else, to fulfill his job for KO, and the feeling of shame and regret for hurting his newfound friends in the process. This series is truly breathtaking!

The storytelling behind this episode just hits the feels a different way. Purple's desire for power and the actions that led up to his current state are so relatable to people IRL. One of the few episodes that made me cry. Well Done Alan
