In New Orleans we boil em then slice them in half scoop out the middle and make a stuffing with meat and Bake them. We call them mirliton’s and they all over the country today because it’s a staple for thanksgiving with New Orleans people. Real Talk

I was born in LA. We moved to the south in 2019 deep fried tomatoes. That’s what I imagine these would taste like. Now I gotta make them.

We make many vegetables like this particularly aubergine, except the flour mix is a bit different (rice flour+plain flour, with turmeric, chilli, cumin/curry powder, coriander leaves).

I’m going to try this with spices, thank you ;)!

I always remove the skin and seed in the middle. It make my fingers numb. Never fried them but add it to my veggie stew. I may need to try that recipe

My mom used to make this and she would add fried cheese on top of it. Guess it’s a Nicaraguan thing to add fried cheese
