Instead of using a pantyliner in your shoes (gross, even if clean), try using Moleskin for corns and bunions, from the shoe area at stores like Walmart. It's soft, and you can cut it to the size you need, and it has adhesive across the entire surface of the piece you use, and won't fall apart after wearing the shoes.

I would think the pantyliners would wear down, peel, tear, etc, since they are made in layers, and out of a paper-lined, or plastic-like lining (depending upon brand), and are disposable. And since they're made to absorb moisture and liquids, not cushion against friction.
