8 Week Post-Op Update

8 week post op-update.

4 pounds of skin from my belly (I also had abdominal repair which OMG has made a HUGE difference with back pain and core strength 🤯) and 1 pound removed from my breasts (plus a lift - I went from a FF cup to a C/D depending on the brand.)

To say this surgery was life changing is an understatement.

Recovery has been no joke, but I’m so grateful for how smoothly everything went and that there have been no complications.

Can we just say you look AMAZING and stop after that. You look like a SUPERSTAR after 4 kids and I’m so proud of you for taking care of yourself. People say you don’t need surgery and put people down for having it but, have they ever tried to live with excessive skin. I had a "tummy tuck" (panniculectomy & abdominoplasty) 20 years ago, after losing 150+ lbs on Weight Watchers. Within months of the surgery, I learned that the scarring was (and still is) blocking the flow of lymphatic fluid, which is just under the skin's surface. I have been fighting this lymphedema (build-up of lymphatic fluid) in my legs, trunk, and arms ever since, and I will have to do so for the rest of my life, as there is no 'cure'. It requires ongoing wrapping and therapy, leaving me thinking I may have been better off living with the hanging skin.

I'm in no way trying to discourage anyone from having an abdominoplasty and/or panniculectmy if they feel it's right for them. I simply hope that you'll think it through and thoroughly research the potential outcomes. Make sure you know what you're getting yourself in for. Please.
