Yes, let's send the rental assistance money to the tenants who aren't paying rent.
What can possible go wrong?

This is so true. My renters owe 20k total in rent, not to mention all the damage they left. Housing is key is saying it's a duplicate, but it's not. They only allow the original person who applied to apply for additional payments. My tenant couldn't do that because he wasn't affected by covid then, because he was in jail!. His gf applied and they said its a duplicate, when its actually additional time. I got one payment of 12, 000.00. No one will actually look at all the documents that i sent. No one will send a letter for more info or a denial. In our state of California this is all tenant driven! I'm a senior who had to go back to work myself to pay the mortgage. Surprise, I was able to get a job!

Yes and the state gets to keep the $$ in the "General Fund" now. I am on third verge of eviction trying to complete paying owed money to an inflexible landlord. No way to work (too elderly) and nothing left to sell. Never again will I even listen to any government whoopie dip help. I only owe back money for a cable bill that this HUD complex wrote into the lease. Have not used cable TV for 5 years !! I qualify for all sorts of assistance that I never have used but will now because I am hungry and have no spare money for safe new shoes. So how some people got so much handed to them is beyond my comprehension.

It worked for me, the situation was that landlords tried to avoid accepting payment for years, and threatened tenants that had approved assistance. Why? Because those landlords were not operating legal apartments, like mine, and now face criminal charges for accepting state and federal funds illegally. I love he attempts to avoid the consequences of tenant harassment and criminal fraud.

They need to make the act criminal!!! Atlanta GA 3 years and counting with criminals in my 3 condos. County level moratorium for the majority Mom and Pop owners. People move out other move in now it's trespassing and you receive no assistance which it is hell to qualify because the tenants don't want to cooperate.

Just make a lease to yourself and the State will send you money. Sounds incredibly stupid? As stupid as the State sending money to the tenant???

I know. I agree. Rent Releif is to pay the Landlord on behalf of Tenants written on the Lease Agreement.

They bail out banks. What about bailing out housing providers??? They’re able to act so quickly too. The housing market is more important than tech startups
