my hp laptop is 6 weeks old and should have battery life of 9.5 hours but I can never get that. I was in class the over day 3 hours of English and it was on 15 percent at the end of class. I don't understand
the max battery life I have had is like 5 to 6 hours

Honestly for me, battery life is decreased in this order: GPU usage/speed, CPU speed, screen brightness, wireless. Running a Lenovo Y500.

My tip for extending battery life is to accelerate away from your laptop at a significant fraction of the speed of light. Due to relativistic time dilation, time will appear to proceed at a much slower rate where your laptop is, making battery life much longer! Also, your laptop will appear narrower, so, thinner screen! Good stuff.

I I always use my bluetooth speaker and bluetooth mouse everyday with my UltraBook. However I do notice a lose in battery life. Only get around 6.5 hours.

Not sure if he said this but if you're using your laptop like a desktop (with the charger always plugged in) then look through the power plan settings for an option that changes how your laptop is charged (as having it being constantly charged is bad for the battery)

Laptops should come with failsafe built in batteries. Like a small secondary that lasts for 5 minutes. That way you can not have the battery in if you're laptop's plugged in 95% of the time, but not have to worry about accidental unplugging, or switching rooms. Than you can preserve the battery's health at least a bit more.
