Often patients come and ask me the doctor my child is 1 to 1and a half year old and
he or she doesn't have much hair. My dear friends remember the growth phase of your hair is on an average lasting from 2 to 3 years. So from the time a hair would start growing in the bud the dermal papilla, it may take 2 to 3 years for the hair to complete its first growth cycle. So having less hair at 1 to 1 and a half year two years of age is not a matter of concern and you would see a gradual increase in the volume. Understand that hair growth is perpetually a continuous process so the hair would continue to grow year after year. So any use of oil or getting excessive tonsuring or mundan done is not going to actually improve the hair growth. It is a popular myth hair growth would take two to three years to begin or what you can say when you see the hair growing to its full length. That's going take minimum two to three years so do not fret, do not be anxious and it's very important you use a good shampoo good skin care hair care products and you should breastfeed and take care of the nutrition of your child. Beyond that there is nothing additional that you need to do as a parent.

So, just to clarify, you do not recommend mundan? My 5 year old daughter's hair is very thin & doesn't grow that well.
