GEN (R) Miller talks about his experiences as a Task Force Ranger, as the Commander of the Maneuver Center of Excellence, as the final commander of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces in Afghanistan, and his continuous involvement in West Point after transitioning out of the military.

GEN (R) Miller recently retired after nearly 40 years in the United States Army. He supported, led, and shaped the most challenging national security issues at the highest levels of the United States government. Most recently, commanding all U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. As Commander of the Joint Special Operations Command, GEN (R) Miller directed U.S. operations in complex geopolitical regions including the Indo-Pacific, Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. As the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, he led the initiative to integrate women into the prestigious U.S. Army Ranger School. He also commanded Assault Forces in Mogadishu, Somalia during “Blackhawk Down”.

I met him in Kabul of 2018. He was making rounds and talking to us soldiers during Thanksgiving. Pretty cool and humble guy, to say the least.

Gen. Austin Scott Miller! So many names and titles to follow! I've been following you since 2021 and it wasnt easy. I know most of your history as a Gen. and know you are a Patriot & Hero. All the ladies love you. Once a Gen Scott Miller was on Twitter a few years ago. It was his birthday and he said if you can tell me Happy Birthday without saying Happy Birthday I will text you. I said something like "this is your big day I hope you celebrate" I got the text from him and he text me some picture even some of his dogs but Im sure it wasnt you! Ever since then I have read every thing I could find about what youre doing. You are one amazing person that does so much for your country.
