Prof. Dr. Shashibala, a renowned Indologist, Dean, Bhavan’s KM Munshi Centre for Indology, Highest Civilian State Award conferred by the President of Mongolia – The Order of the Polar Star, Member- Mission High Level Committee, Indian Knowledge Systems, Ministry of Education; President- International Council of Cultural Studies, Bharat; Executive Member at the International Academy of Indian Culture, Member- Anusandhan Prakoshtha, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Founding member- International Buddhist Confederation, and various other organisations. Formerly she was Visiting Professor at National Museum Institute, Guest Professor at Bristol and Ural Federal Universities and Consultant at the IGNCA. She specializes in India’s cultural contribution to the world, Sanskrit in global perspective, history of arts, Buddhism and cross-cultural connections across political boundaries. She has published 25 books and 105 research papers. Organising conferences, curating exhibitions, documenting Indian cultural relics abroad, travelling widely, drafting and offering courses, giving TV interviews etc. add up to her credentials. The courses drafted on Holistic Science in Sanskrit and Indian Knowledge Traditions for Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan are approved by the AICTE. She is a recipient of several national and international honors and awards.
