Frame Swapping a Willys Wagon; build episode 4

preview_player
Показать описание
When I bought this Willys wagon it was welded to a Suburban frame but I knew that I wanted a more modern chassis for this rig. The obvious choice is a Jeep JK frame. Tons of Aftermarket support, strong, can be built to handle serious off road trails. But making a 1953 Willys fit a 2007 Jeep chassis means a LOT of changes need to be made.

Make sure you subscribe and turn on notifications to keep up with this build and new ones coming up.

hi Ian,
i love the content and the overall detail, just wish it was a a bit more than 7 to 10 minutes, some of us fabrication guys like to see a bit more detail and a little less of the stylized fade in fadout and montages.
Still want to remain positive and love your work.
Cheers

Good as always. Just wish each episode was longer. What you would consider boring would be the cherry on top for use. Just like nate from dirtlifestyle.

Man Ian, you are a hard man to follow. Had no idea you had your own YT channel til I was catching up on some BleepinJeep videos and there you were judging a race of $#!t box XJ vs ZJ, and again on Busted Knuckle, lol. Anyway, huge fan from your past, watched Extreme 4x4 til you left. Actually rewatching it on Amazon lately.
If you get back to doing the Q&A videos I found on here I've got a good technical one for you.

Giving me some ideas on my next build. What's your thoughts on doing grand wagoner build?
I can get a basket case for a good price. Or start my CJ8 basket case?

Loved seeing your wagon in action out in Moab. I have a 59' that I am planning to frame swap. If you covered this I must have missed it, but did you shorten your JK frame for this build? Thanks, Fred

Are you running the fuel evap system? I’m wondering how you plan to plumb the fuel tank. Do you plug off the evap plugs on the tank or actually install the whole purge system.

Hey Ian, just a quick observation/question/critique, I noticed (and watched) all the episodes on this build on Amazon prime video, any reason as to why I didn't see it promoted anywhere? I've just been waiting every week to see the new episodes on YouTube. Maybe it has to do with me not having any kid of social media besides YouTube. I guess what I'm trying to say is, maybe if you and your team could figure a way to promote your content to those people who aren't too into social media it would benefit you even more. But who's to know your shows aren't doing amazing as they are. Love your content either way brother. Hope to see your around for many more years👍
