The feeling of immersion and presence you get while playing this game has been pretty much unmatched for me. I remember wanting to find cover and a cozy fire when it used to rain and always felt safe in the camp compared to the outside. It seemed like a place that was ALIVE and evolving.

The early 2000s atmosphere of this game is just beautiful. I love the mines, the story, setting, and the changing world. I just downloaded it to Switch and can't wait to play this piece of art.

Gothic 1 and 2 are amazing expurience. There is no game like that till this day. I recommend this game to everyone. Even PB after G2 could not recrate this masterpiece. Nice to hear that this port is so good.

I'd love if you could do a quick tutorial on how to play Gothic 1. Things the manual would otherwise tell you, stuff like that, since the Switch version has no manual or guide and they were crucial to games like this back in the day. I actually found your channel because you made similar content for Outward.

Definitely going to support THQ with a purchase of Gothic Classic on Switch to show them the interest for this Franchise. I am looking forward to get the Gothic 2 Classic Edition as well.

Really love their effort they put in this port. It will be pretty interesting to see what they do with the Gothic 2 port. Also they plan to release the fixes on PC, nice.

Hey, great video! I got gothic on switch myself twice due to THQ Nordic store not delivering the physical version on time so i got the digital and kept the physical sealed, I've pre-ordered Gothic 2 on switch as well and can't wait to complete it too. I also have a modded V1 switch with FPS counter and overclock options so I'm more than happy to capture any footage of the game for you if you would like.

Still waiting for a patch. Too many breaking changes.
- goblins have no ai, they just stand
- There is bug in which if you lose a battle your weapon may disappear forever
- quick jump back while fighting doesn’t work (it gives you invisibility for a second and is required while fighting monsters) unless you press down arrow+b
- many quests do not trigger properly
- I can’t join old camp

dang, this kind of makes me want to get a switch now. Gothic 1 has always been one of my nostalgia games that i somehow keep picking up every year at least once, so having it on switch and playing it a new platform would be pretty neat. However, i got to say, i really love the janky pc controls as well though.

Very cool to be able to play gothic on a handheld. Suprised how well the gamepad controls work, there was a lot that could've gone wrong. For example you can still roast meat and forge swords fast if press A/B in the right rhythm. Haven't tried the motion controls yet, really liked them in the doom port but I don't think I need them for Gothic.

What a time to be alive. But on the other hand it makes sense - Gothic controls were inspired by OG Tomb Raider, which were really popular on old consoles like PS1.
But how we're supposed to get upgraded ore armor with Stone turning hostile?
Your performance while capturing might be similar to those folks with weak PCs back then - it wasn't a time when 2+ years old were able to run most games like these days where progress is slower.

Awesome! Do you think they will make a port of the switch features for PC? That would be nice. I know they are making the remaster, etc. or whatever, but this would be a nice thing meanwhile.

As a gothic vet, any content gothic related has my attention and it's really cool that it's not a literal port and that they've somewhat patched it up, the remake has me so HYPED and I will try and get my brother-in-law into gothic, we need to share the gothic love ! Keep up the good content

The only problems I've noticed from a couple of hours playing so far is that the music sometimes skips and there are two goblins by cavalorns hut that are not hostile even if you attack them. Overwise it seems like a great port so far.

I've kind of permanently stored my Switch since getting a Steam Deck but this comes close to tempting me to pull it back out. I hope we get an official updte on the PC version. Would be nice to be able to just play it without needing all the fan patches too.
