Using shadow functions feels unnatural to me. Trying to Te as an INFJ is something I am teeerrible at. But if someone does not understand my Ti points...we got to try somehow else.

Nice video! I know this is kinda random, but I find all the egos pretty interesting! Can't wait for other videos! I also find it interesting that my siblings all share an ego. So, like my siblings, Mbti are ENFP, INFJ, ISTJ. I remember when they introduced me to mbti, I like, what's a shadow? Or what's a Super ego? 🥲

Debating if shadow functions exist isn’t like debating if unicorns exist. Not sure why this is such a debate for so many people. I’m an ISTP. I am capable using Fi just a little consciously with enough focus, practice, and awareness. I am capable of using Te in the same way. Same goes for the other two shadow functions. Nobody said I would be very good at it, but I use those functions consciously or unconsciously. I can’t do that if they don’t exist. If I didn’t have Fi in a shadow, then all I would care about is thinking about other people’s feelings and social perceptions of me. Why am I doing that? Who knows. Doesn’t make sense. I wouldn’t be able to tell you how that makes me feel, and why it is important to me. Why it is valuable and important to me morally to consider others feelings, and why I, by default, am suspicious of anyone why doesn’t agree. I couldn’t tell you how it is important to be emotionally validated by others because I feel that I do have my own worth worthy of people’s time and consideration, and that a rejection of my worth is a rejection of my ideals and who I am as a person. Fe can’t really exist without Fi. It’s a slider and my feelings are just set more to the Fe side in my case, and the feeling volume level is set to low. Doubting if shadow functions really logically complete that aspect of the model (if they “exist”) is literally like doubting if people are capable of half of human perception and thought. It’s basically telling me I am absolutely incapable of the four functions in my shadow, which makes no sense. If I am, then they should be considered in the model, and if they are considered in the model, you get shadow functions.

As an INFJ with the shadow function Te, i still struggle to even understand what it is and why/how people use it. Ive even researched and asked my ENTJ friend to explain it to me but i still cant grasp it for some reason 😭

Btw, do you think that for example, an ESFJ can use their Ne more than Si? Or INTJ use their Fi more than Fe? I think, it would make sense.
