My heart aches and I tear up a little everytime I hear this part of the song. It just speaks to me in a personal level.

Honestly, Long Live almost sounds like it came from a hero's pov. The hero was telling his or her team how important they were in reaching their goals. During their journey, the hero was having the "time of his or her life", making memories here and there. But at the same time, the hero saw the sacrifices they made like sacrificing things they love the most for the best (ex. baseball cap for a crown). But during the biggest conflict of the hero's story, he or she has to make an ultimate sacrifice so he or she managed to save everyone but the hero is dying. The hero's whole team gathered at his or her dying body and that's where the hero was saying:

The hero was telling his or her team that he or she won't live long enough to meet the next generation and tell them the stories of their battles. But he wants his legacy to go on. So, the hero gave full responsibility to his or her team for telling the world about the power they held.
