I'd recommend city to look at some federal government entities that are saving millions by allowing their employees to fully work remotely. Imagine not having to pay for all the costs associated with owning a whole building (maintenance, security, janitorial, etc). Also, the employees save on gas, commute time (wasted life and time) and are overall happier (higher retention of trained work force). This is just one example. A bit of proper, competent management and so much can be saved instead of raising taxes. That was the message sent by San Diegans through elections.

Mayor Todd Gloria, You say you've invested $90 million through the City’s Economic Development Department and have corporate partnerships, but you are steadfast in freezing hiring for all but the most essential positions. With research, "all but the most essential positions" is not defined online. Can you please help me get there? I want to be a part of your essential programs. I reached out to the people that I need to. I have letters of eligibility for the City and County of San Diego. I have a unique skillset that will benefit even your most essential teams. Do not hold me back. Help me get there. Thank you.
