Limp Bizkit Nookie - Drum Cover - TreyB

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! So, I noticed the #LimpBizkit hadn’t been represented on this channel wtith a #drumcover. I figured why the hell not. From their 1999 album Significant Other is a drum cover of “Nookie”. Straight up, I always liked ‘em and still do. And I never had the chance to cover this live with any act. Still surprised by that. I know I’m not alone when it comes to John Otto. That dude can flat out play. But what impressed me in this track as much as anything is what he didn’t do. This became a commercial success on a riff that isn’t commercial in the least. A good part of that is the drummer understanding to dial it back & Otto is a drummer who can definitely dial it up when he needs to. Still, he managed to make it tasteful and keep it interesting. But more than anything, it’s a fun song with great riffs and big hooks. AND - re-introducing a regular sized snare. 6.5 x14 and for this tune, I've got that thing c-r-a-n-k-e-d on tuning. Also, as to "why" I'm hitting a perfectly good cymbal from underneath, it's total showboat I ripped from somebody somewhere. That one has always been effective live. Not so much making people go "COOL" but more like "Why the fuck is he hitting it from underneath?". Makes 'em look. So, between crap like that and the Bizkit choice, this won't be for everyone LOL! We’ll get back to some different stuff hopefully over the weekend if work / time allow. As always, I hope you have a great weekend and I hope you’re safe & healthy. I can’t thank y’all enough for taking the time to watch – whether it’s for 30 seconds or the whole video on ANY video that comes out. Truly, truly mean that.
