Butch (Bruce Willis) returns to his hotel room on a tense mission to retrieve his prized golden watch. Upon entering, he's met with an unsettling surprise—someone is already there, lying in wait. A stroke of luck favors Butch as the intruder is momentarily indisposed in the bathroom, leaving their gun unattended. Seizing the opportunity, Butch arms himself and prepares for a confrontation. As the bathroom door opens, the identity of the mysterious figure is revealed to be none other than Vincent (John Travolta). A beat of shocked recognition passes between them before Butch, without hesitation, pulls the trigger, dramatically altering the course of events.

"Pulp Fiction" weaves together multiple interconnected stories in a non-linear narrative that revolutionized contemporary cinema. The film follows the lives of two hitmen, Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield, their boss Marsellus Wallace, his wife Mia, struggling boxer Butch Coolidge, and a pair of small-time criminals planning a diner heist. Through a series of seemingly unrelated events, their paths cross in unexpected and often violent ways. The movie explores themes of redemption, honor among thieves, and the consequences of choice, all while delivering sharp dialogue, dark humor, and unforgettable characters. Tarantino's masterpiece challenges conventional storytelling, creating a rich tapestry of crime, philosophy, and pop culture that continues to captivate audiences decades after its release.

Everyone who had a change of heart lived, Vincent was the only one who didn't and he paid for it with his life.
Butch went back for Marcellus, and then Marcellus gave Butch a chance to leave with his life. Julius decided that he wouldn't kill anymore and allowed the diner robbers to also leave with their lives if they agreed to change as well.

Vincent's carelessness with his weapons is what got him in such a mess and in the end it's what got him killed.

Imagine all 32 bullets miraculously miss, and then the movie becomes about Vincent trying to convince Marcellus that it was divine intervention

How Butch could walk away from those Pop Tarts is beyond me.

One of the rare times Hollywood accurately depicted how fast 32 rounds can be fired from a smg

Bad stuff always happened when Vincent was on the can. Mia OD'd, the coffee shop gets robbed, and he gets killed.

Happy Trails Bruce Willis.
Thank you for the monumental roles you've brought to your films in the cinema, You served us well.
Hopefully next year you'll be awarded an honorary Academy Award like your co-star Samuel L Jackson.

After watching Pulp Fiction for the first time I was utterly convinced that a brown suede jacket was the coolest thing a teen boy like me could wear.

Vincent spends a lot of time on the toilet reading books because heroin addicts can suffer severe constipation. The book he is reading is "Modesty Blaise"; the type of long comic which comes under the category of "pulp fiction".

I think Vincent and Marcellus didn’t come to kill Butch, because they didn’t think Butch would risk coming back to his home. They were probably there to dig up some information to pursue Butch. That is why Vincent was being careless and Marcellus went out to get coffee and donuts for the two of them. If they were on a hit mission the two would stick together more.

When I'm running from mobsters who want me dead, I too return to my apartment to retrieve golden watches and make pop tarts.

Marsellus went to get some food and left his machine gun on the counter as he couldn't take it to the store. Vincent always had his 1911 with him. The noise being made by butch didn't matter because Vincent must have thought that Marsellus was back with the food. Yes 32 rounds of .45 ACP go through that MAC 10 in about 1.5 seconds. And yes firing a weapon inside a small apartment makes the fire alarm go off every time... In the next scene Butch runs into Marsellus on the street coming back with the food. This unfortunate encounter leads to all manner of trouble for the both of them...

At first, I thought how Vincent could not hear the noises or the moving around Butch is making, he being as quiet as possible, the proxemics of the apartment make it near impossible but then it hits me. Vincent perhaps heard the movement but assumed it was Marsellus coming back from his run to get food, we see that when Butch ran into Marsellus at the cross walk to make connection. It surreal that after 20-30 years we can still appreciate finding new details and nuggets. Brillant film art and writing from a once in a lifetime writer/filmmaker - Mr. Tarantino, I salute you...sir.

No dialog. Complete silence. Except for that toaster. Brilliant!

Everytime I leave the house and forgot something I turn around and know there's a chance I'm gonna have to take out John Travolta while he's reading a book on my toilet

At least Vincent had the decency to flush.

Pulp Fiction is simply a work of art from the eccentric genius that is Quentin Tarantino. Making the first and final scene in the restaurant link everything together with the little sub plots branching off was unique and to mind had never been done before. Whether someone has tried to replicate this since idk.
