I have Malice on hold at my library and can't wait for it to come in! I've been really wanting to start reading John Gwynne!

Theft of Swords, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and The Name of the Wind are all on my owned TBR! I really need to continue in the ASoIaF series. Tolkien and Sanderson are favorites for me too! I don't think I have enough favorite male SFF authors to form a top 10, interestingly enough.

I've been looking forward to this one!
I've either read or am planning on reading books from most of these authors.
Malice has been on my radar for awhile and hearing you talk about it here makes me want to pick it up sooner.
I'm kind of surprised that Michael J. Sullivan was lower on this list honestly.
Ooh interesting. I expected Mark Lawrence to be on here, but I thought he'd be lower.
Tolkien! I love the riddles. Riddles is books is such a thing for me. I love them.
Yeah I remember those days when there was no YA.
I think I read an article that said the first three books of Kingkiller is only a prologue and that there's going to be more.
I'm not surprised Sanderson is number one! I'm starting Mistborn tomorrow and while I'm nervous I'm also excited. So stay tuned!
I really enjoyed this and I loved being surprised by the order a bit.

wow one person POV in fantasy is definitely rare! and I'm definitely going to be trying some Sebastien de Castell soon; you make his books sound so good!

Girl, I don't blame you. I am also drinking Kool-aid on Patrick Rothfuss. He needs to buzz off the Worldbuilders blah-blah and wrap it up. I have to go read the two books again to reabsorb it all in.

I've been wanting to read more SFF so I am definitely taking notes!

Great list! Granted I am biased since Sanderson would also be my number one 😆

You should read the Red Queen series by Mark Lawrence, it has such a good friendship with a womanising coward prince and a Viking set on getting his family back. It is so much lighter and fun than his other series

interesting? my only complaint (?) is your SFF is entirely fantasy, definitely needs more SF.
I'm more sci-fi than fantasy so my list would be different, although I do like a bit of F as well.
so far this year my top (and only 5*) is Adrian Tchaikovsky's Made Things which is a fantasy and he is an author who does both SF and F. (with variable results? usually good but not 100%)
