We're giving you a quick walk-through of how we approach the shift/throttle and ignition controls on this Tohatsu 40 hp outboard. These same rules apply to most outboards that use the same 3300 style shift/throttle cable (Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda). Check out other videos on our channel for specific and in-depth control installs...and of course, please subscribe!

I have a 120 hp Nissan two-stroke outboard and it’s the same set up as that motor in this video. I am trying to adjust the throttle cable because my throttle is almost all the way down before the boat starts actually getting up to speed. Any advice on how to adjust the throttle cable

Do you have any videos on what wires go to what? Trying to figure out how to hook up gauges and finding it harder to find information for wiring these engines.

So i have a tohatsu 115. The red steering cable runs from the motor to the steering wheel. Should i disconnect at the steering wheel, where it goes to the motor looks complicated to remove.
