I don’t know if this counts as foreshadowing but I was doing a rewatch and in 2x02 when Smeech attacks Jinx and gets close to her left eye (the same one Caitlyn loses) he says “but don’t think I won’t skewer out those peepers, drawback of you long range types” and since Caitlyn is also someone who typically picks fights from a distance I felt it may have applied.
