Poland's president accuses EU of 'lying' about judicial reforms

Poland's president has accused the EU of lying about his country's planned judicial reforms.

It follows the triggering of a legal mechanism by the EU that could see the country stripped of its voting rights within the bloc.

Brussels says the laws are a threat to democracy.

The EU has given Poland three months to address its concerns, it may then consider suspending Warsaw’s voting rights.

But for that to happen all member states would have to agree and the problem for the EU is that Hungary has already made it clear it would veto such a move.

Al Jazeera's Natacha Butler reports from Paris.

I am afraid that the polish government and Mr. Morawiecki has got a very huge problem, with putting down his "facts" about the judicial reform in an official paper and handing it over to the journalists in Brussels on the 10 th January.
Now there is no possibility for an excuse.

Lol they say the Polish people do not agree with how the country is being run, even though the majority of us are right wing, the biggest march in our history is even in our independence day.

I literally cannot wait for the new judicial reforms to come in force.
The EU has just shown it's true face to the people of Poland.
