Customer Success: How Interoperability Helped NCH Medical Group Enhance Patient Safety

Dr. Ghanshyam M. Shah and his colleagues at NCH Medical Group (formerly Northwest Suburban Physicians) faced a significant challenge with “information asymmetry,” and needed a way to exchange patient records between their eClinicalWorks EHR and Northwest Community Healthcare Hospital, which uses Epic. Thanks to the CommonWell and Carequality interoperability frameworks, each patient’s complete record is now available with just a few clicks — promoting better communication, ensuring quality at the point of care, and enhancing patient safety.
