Install Dirt 3 Complete Edition On Ubuntu with PlayOnLinux

A quick and beginner friendly guide on how to install Dirt 3 Complete Edition on Ubuntu with PlayOnLinux and Wine, as requested.

This tutorial can be used for any version of Ubuntu or other Linux OS that supports PlayOnLinux 4.2 and newer.

Please make sure that you have your graphics drivers installed if you're using Nvidia or AMD graphics cards. This guide is unlikely to work on Intel iGPU's, but please do share in the comments if you're successful.

WARNING: Any future updates to Dirt 3 CE or Steam can cause breakages. I cannot predict these in my guide.

To follow this video, you will need:
1. PlayOnLinux 4.2 or greater
3. Wine 1.9.0 (or newer) installed in POL

Get PlayOnLinux from here:

To more advanced users who do not wish to watch the video:
1. Install libopenal1:i386 if you're on a 64bit OS
forcedx9="false" to true instead.
3. Use a clean Wine prefix, with the CSMT patch enabled.

Hopefully this video is as beginner friendly as can be, yet not too long or slow to be a drag to watch. I hope this helps you in some way.

You should redo this video and add in a tutorial on how to get an xbox one/360 controller working. I used your video plus this guide and it works just fine!


Also this guide doesn't show but you need to remap the start and select buttons from back=8 start=7 to back=7 start=8.
