COMP. Might be a setting like the compounding mode used on some narrow band radios like the Motorola radios like the P1225/M1225 to help over come the low audio that is that is inherent to narrow band audio.

If you hold F and 4 doesn't it reset and allow for those extended ranges to be used?

Interesting its still a 7.4volt radio inside.Must still use the same chipset inside. Harmonics look good, wonder how they solved it. They are lower in low power and not over driving the PA.

When using either CHIRP or the RA89 proprietary programming software, I have not been able to reprogram the P1 and P2 user-programmable side buttons after uploading. When programmed to SCAN, it simply monitors the selected channel. Upon downloading the settings back into the program, the settings are indeed correctly set. It just doesn't work. Do you experience the same issue?

My license covers 155.22 and 155.280 MHz which fall outside of ham band because it is a LMR license. It sounds like this radio would not work for me. Please advise.

I think the cop is for a compander...not sure it's very useful. DDTMF is used very often to control things like Echolink, All Star Link, and other repeater functions.

profe, porque el baofeng uv-5r es mejor en transmisión y recepción acabo de probar con esos armonicos no deberia ser mejor el ra89, o estan mandando con menos componentes a otros paises espero que no sea asi
