It hurts me that his family didn’t want his things.
I just want to say thank you for the respect you gave to him. Good luck with all the collectibles in this storage unit.

This was a US miliatry officer you had Lieutenant, Captain, and Major ranks in the trunk along with many service ribbons, and patches.
Fun Fact: White sash with the red arrow is called the Arrow of Light; the highest award given in Boy Scouts; rarely achieved by most.

If his family is watching they know a real loss. This man appears to have been a real hero. A life time of service to our country.
It's a shame his family didn't get his life in boxes.
The stamps are extremely valuable. I wonder if he wasn't collecting for his descendents.
God bless.

The family that just let this stuff go couldn't have thought or maybe really didn't care that this was this mans legacy in the trunks. And WHAT A LEGACY! He was a athlete and a Vet. He had many medals and just the evidence of an amazing life of accomplishments. Makes me wonder if the family isn't really able or who knows but this is stuff that should have been heralded. IMHO.

as a military vet my self, from a family of long military history, i hop you at least tried to contact the family and ask if they want the military metals. thats history that if posable should stay with the family. I know that its your money and now your stuff but still

Single gold bar is second lieutenant rank, silver bar is First Lieutenant, double silver bars is Captain, gold leaf is a Major. The guy was pretty well decorated army field grade officer.

The white sash with red arrow is an “Order of the Arrow” Boy Scout merit. Not many scouts achieve it.

Seeing somebody's life and memories being inspected and owned by a stranger is sad.

He went from a Boy Scout all the way to a Major {at a minimum} in the Armed Forces. Each little pin on the service bar, as I remember, 4 years and so on. He served a very long time. I hope he got to come home and retire.

Hi Mike it's Lynnie, those stamps are very very collectible and worth a lot of money please don't let anybody screw you out of them I wish I could buy them but I'm 75 years old and I live on social security but I have a stamp collection that I just love and I wish I could buy yours. Please please don't let anyone screw you out of the value of those stamps even the ones on the postcards have value. Sending my best wishes to you and Jack and your families

The red arrow sash is Order of the Arrow, very elite Scout group, some of their patches go for more than $1000.00, better really check those patches !

I prefer it much more when you're with Jack and not the other guys. He has such a polite demeanour and real interest and respect for antiques while the other guys, even though they can be fun at times, distract me a lot and act childish most of the time. Lovely trunk 👌

Wow, he was Air Force before it was called the Air Force; Major (gold leaves). Also, he the Provost Marshal over all the Military Police (USA) & Special Police (USAF) in his command. That was too cool. I was USA and loved it! The silver container with the stamps was what military forms were carried when on patrol in the Special Police (USAF) and for the Military Police (USA) as well. He chose to keep his collection in it.

You and Jack hit a major league home run with this locker! The contents of both trunks could possibly pay for that locker!
