Oil sometimes settles to the bottom of the gas, I give it a little shake up before a start if it's been sitting.

for the air box my banshee went up in flames because if the clutch drum it was rusty and weak so I put oil on it to see it hold up for a couple weeks then I cranked it up and first there was smoke then fire
