I have never seen the tool your using to press the carpet to tackless and crease at baseboard… I need that I been doing carpet my whole life and learned from my father who owned business 40+….. never seen that 👌🏼…. Great videos

Just what I wanted to see. I replaced a carpet in a room once and miraculously it came out perfect using an entirely different and "lucky cutting" method. Did a second room and I completely messed it up. Looking forward for the 3rd times a charm correct way 😂

I'm just going to trim where I've fitted a wardrobe. Didn't occur to me that you would stretch it onto the gripper & score it to a hard right angle before cutting. So I'm going to give this a go with the side cutting. (Might put a steel ruller behind to protect the wardrobe).
This was the first carpet video I found & it looks like it has quickly helped me.

I know it's not something that a diy person would have, but the quickest/ safest/ non damaging way is to use a wall trimmer, as a professional.. and I've never lost to even the most veteran installer who doubted it.. but the most useful tip for diy, imo is to double up the tackstrip on the 2 walls you're stretching the rug to, which will make the carpet stay held to the tacks while you're cutting & after you already stretched.. not needed for apartment grade material, but anything thicker is a good idea.. and try to use a power stretcher if at all possible vs the kicker, there's no comparison of the install between the two.
