You can get the GP500 S TR in tan wall as well. Fantastic tire.

I think the Specialized sponsored team are still using the turbo cotton with latex inner tube in most occasion instead of the newer S works turbo tubeless tyres

I love Vittoria cotton tires and want to test this new Corsa pros but at the moment they are much to expensive. I mean i have get a set of gp 5000 s tr 28 mm for only 80€ so... I will never pay more than 100€ for a set of tires.

Been using Vittoria cotton casing high TPI tires since the early 90’s. So smooth. Used them for racing when I raced and always for training. Just wish they’d make the Corsa Pro with a black sidewall; the natural/tan doesn’t look ideal with my bike colors.

What about schwabbe pro ? Those came on my high end bike and they are awesome. At least as good as GP5000

The specialized swirls tire is the smoothest to me then the Continental 5000

Pretty sure the riders on Contis were on TT-TR and not S-TR

What about ease of mounting and puncture resistance? Based on past experience Specialized is easiest to mount and remove. Vittoria is ok to mount, difficult to remove. Conti's very difficult to mount, difficult to remove. Puncture resistance - the Vittorias are so sticky it seems they attract punctures. Specialized - very good puncture resistance. Contis, in the middle. For overall livability, I give the nod to Specialized.

Im guessing the pros that use these tyres also get them qc and weight checked prior to receipt. The manufacturers wants to give them the lightest, best made of the bunch. I wonder if certain 'golden' batches are also earmarked for pro use.
Just like a CPU chip, there will be variations in performance between tyres and the higher hertz chips are made exactly the same aa the lower Hz but just perform better.

GP's way too difficult to mount will not buy them anymore for that 1 reason, otherwise they are great.

any tire with a sufficiently doped driver can win any race

If the tires are much grippy it means much contact on the ground.

Wheels are the number one, then tires

Correction to the pro's closet.

95% of world tour pro teams have been using TR tyres since the start if the season.
Tubulars are very rarely used.

You got this the wrong way around.

Tan walls > any other metric. Rather be slower and look good
