Pretty sure Stephen Lett was the first governing body member I heard speak on the broadcasts while I was still partially mentally in. From the very beginning I found his way of speaking boring, condescending and a LITTLE creepy. Good to know now that I'm fully out that my instincts were spot on even while still indoctrinated.

In my time as a jdub I watched most elders flat out getting rich and admired by all. I also watched very humble, faithful, zealous and poor brothers held in low esteem within various congregations.

I remember being at the home of a young jw (a friend about my age) and we were discussing something about how life would be in the new system/world, whatever they’re calling it now 😆, and his father, who was within earshot of our conversation yelled in an angry voice: I don’t care if I have to shovel shit, as long as I’m there! My friend and I said no more, but I was wondering what his father’s idea of paradise was and from where did he get it 😅…

Imagine having to literally shovel shit as the reward for all the self denial of all physical pleasures that make human life worth living forever 😂 just to enjoy that as an eternal prospect…

My mother is in so much debt because of this thinking. She just keeps charging and charging because she feels the end is just around the corner and Jehovah's is gonna pay off all her debt. In the meantime her son who is not a believer, now has to pick up the slack for her God! I'm tired of it.😢 I'm trying to save for my family and it hurts me knowing my mom is struggling financially because of this bs.
