you can manually turn off that cooler boost in msi center you can turn it on that one if you play heavy games only

Bought this one at Walmart with 16 gigs of RAM, and the 3050, I don't game on it at all as I have a Steam Deck, Series X, PS5 and Gaming desktop. Just for basic use, runs super fast, efficient for everything I need. Cheap(ish) build yes, but mine doesn't go anywhere. Also the speakers are very good and doing some simple video editing it's still pretty silent overall. So yeah the 2023 version of this is a LOT better than like 3 years ago. No creaky hinges, and for God sake if you keep opening it like you're on steroids NOTHING is going to last. I think people overreact and over embellish on things.I've had 0 issues.

whatever you do don't turn off the IGPU/APU in the bios you will have no screen and have to reset your bios, my cmos reset switch doesn't work i had to take it apart to fix it

The whole laptop is a faulty design in terms of cooling. Only one extra slim fan that have to push away 70 to 80 watts when both, CPU and GPU are at 100% load. Mine sounds like a jet fighter. 😒 Even brand new. It was cheap. (But not that cheap when I better had spent 100 bucks more and get an overall better laptop with much better cooling design.)

Back to video: seems like cooler boost is activated. You can change the settings in MSI dragon center or MSI center or even MSI creator center. In creator center you can additionally set the max battery charge to 60, 80 or 100% for either long battery lifetime or better runtime but shorter battery lifetime.

I bought one of these and it's on the way. I'm wondering if this is a nice laptop bc i need one for the school (i want portability cause i have a pc lol) and for some gaming like gta v, Minecraft, some rdr2, fortnite and maybe some heavy games. I just want to know if this was a good option for the price and if there's some option to disable that sound lol
