Instead of the usual 60 second tutorial this Wednesday, I decided to do something I haven't done in a while. This breakdown video compares the raw footage from last week's horror short with the final video, as well as showing you my timeline from editing the project. This should give you a solid insight into my process for editing, color grading, sound design, and more! Techniques I used to edit this are below:

STUFF I USE TO MAKE VIDEOS:

🎼 Tracks used:

📸 Images used:

🎤 Sound effects used:

l love when creators focus on the look/style of a film. l see too many indi films just use a DSLR thinking they are good & 4get the color grading & LUT

This is such a good way to show the raw vs final.
I tend to have LOTS of composites and 'final composites' and 'final_v2_composites (really messy and causes slowdown) and far fewer audio tracks.... so I would be very interested in how you structure your editing.

Wow! Looking at all them audio layers shows how much sound is important to bring a vid to life. Thanks, Aldin 👍

Here I am 4 yrs later after this video is posted and gave me an idea/inspiration I was looking for to edit my horror game videos. I was looking for ways to make it more entertaining and I think this video gave me ideas compounded on to what I already had in mind

Great Aidin! 02:05 is my favourite. Such big difference from the raw footage but still don´t look unreal with all the effects. Awesome breakdown! :)

This was so dope!!!🤙🏾 This was a prime example of the film look with such a great narrative, my fav shots were probs the knife against the tree and the VFX of the "watch out for bears" sign. Such a great vid and so inspired rn! :)
