ATP vs United Aviate Academy | Here's the research I did to make a decision

PS: spoke with ATP and they said start dates are 8-9 weeks from date funds are approved. As of 10/2022

As someone who trained at ATP, then instructed at ATP and now instructs at UAA. If you get accepted to UAA, go that route.

Thanks for the Info, especially the Aviate timeline for acceptance and all. I have 2 ATP schools available near where I stay here in the LA area, but also do own a home close to the AZ campus. Will use this info in my assessment with time being of upmost importance.

Thank you for the breakdown of the 2 schools. I am in the application phase of Aviate and starting to get impatient as I have not heard anything in over 2 months. Thank you for your video it was very helpful. I am in the same situation as I have to choose between atp and united academy. I think I will end up going with atp as I can stay with my parents while attending rather then move to a new state at 18. Good luck on your journey

I myself work over the road trucking cross country and prep for my ppl written exam as well as fly for 2 hrs every 6 weeks as self pay around my work and other bills fly out of Mkc with ATD flight systems LLC

I live in Arizona and im about to get a one bed room one bath for $1300 that includes everything. So that should give you a ball park for rent: expect $1300 and above depending on location.

I suggest those preparing to choose a flight school should study the (ppl) ground school online and pass the ground school exam. Also while your preparing get familiar with the terms and ideas of IFR.

I really would love to do this but I have a mortgage and bills to pay. I’m sure I’m not the only one who questions this, how does one pay for these bills while in flight school full time or is this just simply not possible?

Hello Skye. Thanks for your time and informative videos. I applied for United Aviate 3 months ago and never heard back! I sent many emails, but nobody answered. I went to Phoenix, but they didn't even let me in! Last month I begged them to email back!!! Finally they sent me a very vague email with this title: ((Agile: Awaiting Acceptance: HR Workforce Administration Case:...))
The email contained some information about the program only, the same info on their website. There was neither congratulations nor declaration of acceptance except the title! Now I am really confused. Am I accepted or not? If not, is it worth it to waste my time waiting for them or not?

I dont know how to say thank you for all the information. I'm exactly debating between ATP and Aviate, but the point is that I just applied for Aviate and I have no idea if they will accept me or not. But I'm just wondering if Aviate is part 141? If they are part 141 I can become an airline pilot with 1000hrs of flight right?

You will lose $100, 000 in "lost income" if you go to Aviate vs ATP but you may make more in the life-time earning at United vs other airlines.

1. Takes years longer
2. Far less opportunity for building hours, while ATP has locations all over the US
3. Ask any airline pilot and they will most likely say ATP vs Youtuber opinions
