Mexico City (Ciudad de México 2024 in Spanish, aerial an drone filming filming) is the biggest city and the capital of Mexico. It is also the oldest city of the Americas. Mexico City was first built by the indigenous Aztec people and previously known as Tenochtitlan. Tenochtitlan was originally constructed on a island in a lake. After the Spanish conquest of Mexico by Hernán Cortés in 1519, Lake Tenochtitlan was drained. The Spanish built Catholic Churches over the Aztec temples. Most famous example is the Catedral Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México in downtown Mexico City. Nowadays Mexico City metropolitan area has a population of 22 million and is one of the biggest and fast growing cities in the world. 40 kilometers north of Mexico City is the ancient city of Teotihuacan located from the first millennium (1 AD to 500 AD). Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas, with a population estimated at least 125,000.
