Team Minot Airmen participate in Prairie Vigilance 24-1 by performing maintenance on B-52H Stratofortresses, posting security patrols, and taking off from the flightline at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, Oct. 23 - Oct. 26, 2023. The U.S. Air Force maintains a credible strategic capability that enhances deterrence of the most consequential threats to the United States, its allies, and its partners. Exercises like PV serve to assure our allies and partners that the U.S. is ready to execute nuclear operations and global strike anytime, anywhere in order to deter and, if necessary, respond to strategic attack. So what are the designations of the maintenance squadrons these days. Between 2002-2004 There were quite a few name changes. Those were as follows the 23rd AMXS, the 23rd AMU and the 5th AMXS. Same group of mechanics but they couldn’t make up their mind on what name to stick with. 😅 Also all of the tails of the B52’s said Bomber Baron’s. Has all of that changed? What remains if any from that group?
