Congratulations! I am a 48-year-old perimenopausal woman, a scientist, and a cell biology professor.
You did an amazing job analyzing data, scientific bias, and commenting on important and limiting aspects of topic treatments (passing through the skin layers and basal membrane and stability)!
I subscribe to your channel and have not seen your videos for a while, but today this one showed up (after I watched the one about retirement). Please keep doing this! This was truly great and I am sure it took a lot of time and dedication, so thank you! <3

I am an esthetician and I wish we had teachers like you at school. They knew nothing compared to you. Great video Angie! 💕

Angie - this is the perfect example of the type of video I enjoy. I love it when you go full on nerd and give the absolute truth of skin care products. This is saving your viewers a lot of time and money. Well done. 👍

I am sticking with Tretinoin, an antioxidant serum, and a moisturizer with peptides. At 73 I’m going to embrace my wrinkles as proving I’ve had a life well lived.

I just went to a funeral for a friend who was only 52. She was a nurse practitioner, in the Air Force, a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all. She leaves behind two beautiful boys who are college age. All I can think of right now is that aging is a blessing. Looking good is great, but what Heather would not have traded to still be here with her boys and husbands, family and friends!

I’m 51 and have been watching your show for the last 7 years. If you still have it on you please keep going. I love your channel….its shown me that you don’t need to pay big bucks to change your skin and reverse damage and signs of again. Thank you so much for all your work!

Hi Angie I was a Registered Nurse for many years and won’t buy growth factors either. The possibility of proliferation of skin cancer cells in the human bioengineered stuff is a big no and plant based - well I am not a plant 😂.
I have rosacea and eczema so my skin barrier is chronically impaired therefore I use a lot of caution when choosing skin care. My rosacea hates retinoids during true menopause (I could use them carefully prior to becoming fully menopausal), but I believe in their efficacy as a topical treatment. My active of choice is azelaic acid- it has made the biggest difference in how my skin looks. Obviously I use spf and as I live in the UK use ultrasun or Evy with their more longwear modern filters (ultrasun is available on prescription for skin cancer patients btw). Niacinamide is nice, my skin absolutely hates vitamin C and peptides are hydrating😂. There is no miracle cure for aging and I personally am happy to have lived long enough to even worry about it. I was involved in cancer nursing for many of the years spent in that profession and trust me not everyone lives long enough to worry about aging/wrinkling. I want calm, hydrated and moisturised skin but just embrace the signs of aging as a life lived. My smile lines are far more prominent than frown lines so it is a reflection of that life on my face.
I am not however on camera on social media with all the pressure about how I look that entails, so no judgement etc. I do think procedures will have a far more obvious impact than anything topical, so for those buying 300$ serums saving that money towards a procedure may get you better results. Best wishes x

Frantically waving nerd flag - excellent job!! You basically did a PhD thesis literature review in this video! Scientific research isn’t perfect but you consistently provide excellent summaries of ALL the data, good and bad, with enough nuance for folks to make their own choices. Nuance is sorely lacking in media these days, and I deeply appreciate your work and contribution. I’m sure these videos don’t perform as well as others, but please don’t stop making them!!!

Angie, I have been watching you ever since you practiced your make up techniques on your then husband (funny video).
Speaking as a person with a medical background, I am very impressed with the depth of your “deep dive” into this study. You are without a doubt, one of the most trusted and respected influencers on YouTube. Thank you for that.

Thank you for the scientific deep dive. You really did your homework. I'll stick to retinol, sun screen and peptides.

I tried both Skin Medica and Neocutis and they didn’t do a thing to improve my skin. Do not waste your hard earned money. I’m 58 and am constantly getting compliments. I use products from Neutrogena, Cosrx, the Ordinary, and Timeless. They do a better job to keep my skin balanced and healthy and they don’t break the bank!

Thanks so much Angie! I asked for this video from you months ago, so I appreciate all your research to help me understand this. My dermatologist told me not to use Growth Factors because I’ve had melanoma skin cancer in the past. I think this is important for people to understand.
