The beta features of Windows Whistler Build 2428 look excellent. For example, the Start button in it is brighter than the one in the final Windows XP release. Both versions sure look glossy! I had fun with Windows Whistler Build 2428 in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 over a decade ago.

Windows Whistler beta 2 is very interesting. I like Whistler's login screen better than XP RTM.

I like both. But I think the RTM version of XP is better overall.

Beta 2 is aesthetically beautiful, it just makes the RTM version look a little more bland and some features visually unappealing.

For such a development of a earlier build, I wish they stay glued to the design and never scrap it. I can see why a certain would think the official looks very childish.

I believe if they decide to keep that one design, sure the "childish" complaints would remain, but I think it would balance out the negativity.

Shouldn’t be the boot loading animation green because of no service pack. I guess it’s changed later in blue. Or disunderstand I the word RTM wrong? For me is RTM =day0 edition.
