"The responsibility lies with those who allowed ideological debates to
take the rescue package hostage and violated the July agreement of the
heads of state and government. Hungary has complied all along with the
EU treaties and the July deal. Hungary has never sold a “pig in a poke”.
The future of Hungary can only be decided by the Hungarian
people.🇭🇺(Judit Varga)

It is so much more about the strings attached to the recovery package than the package itself.

Hungary is as democratic as the western european countries. Here we
respect the rule of law (even more than in western europe.) We have
freedom of speech (even more freedom than in Germany for egs.where every
journalist must conform to the same ideology) Our judges are appointed
by the autonomous body of judges. They are independent from the
government, even from the actual national assembly (in contrast to
several European countries where even the government can appointmant
judges) In a lot of country the public prosecutor is appointed by the
government . In Hungary he/she is elected by the Parliament (by a
two-thirds majority). Here national minorities have cultural autonomy.
They can elect national self-governments that work in a similar way than
other municipalities and have guaranteed financial support by the
State. They can use their own symbols, language from the kindergarten to
the University, in every public institutions, at the Court etc. Even
our constitution states that national minorities are part of the
state-building of the country.
