This was a great video. Wife's X5 has 120K and recently when changing the oil, I can see it pooling on the underbody cover near the drain. I started to investigate and assumed it was a gasket. This is quite the JOB! Glad I watched the vid before I decided to look into it further. Sounds like you are in the metro D area - indep shop or are you at a dealer? Not sure if you can say here. Might be visiting soon for a repair.

Jesus man🤣 you didnt have to remove the subframe or the steering rack, you did way more than necessary
