In this video, I review the Donner DJC-1000S Jazz Thinline semi-hollow body electric guitar. This instrument is well built with no finish flaws. It came out of the box ready to play after tuning. I was very impressed by the quality of the instrument, especially given its price point! For full disclosure, Donner sent me this instrument, at no cost to me, for the purpose of doing a review.

Just unboxed one of these rigs and I can NOT believe how much guitar you get for the price. I have two Fender Telecasters, a Schecter T style, a Squier Telecaster, and a Fender Noventa Telecaster and this Donner holds it's own with all of them. Insane. This is my first Tele with humbuckers and it sounds great...to my surprise it still has that seminal Telecaster twang. From the oddity side of things... It has a maple neck, with a maple fingerboard AND a skunk strip (really weird)... usually maple necks are all one piece with a skunk stripe. But the fit and finish is really solid (the F holes could use a bit of TLC) and most importantly it sounds fantastic! The action out of the box is a little bit high but easily fixed. Tuning sees to be holding...dig the vintage tuners. All in all it is just a wonderful bang for the buck!

Semi-hollow electrics always have a great sound. You are correct about the quality of the finish for the price. It's impressive. Nice guitar.

I bought one of these last month. It's terrific! I own six Tele-style guitars. This one is second only to my $950 Fender Vintera.

It's based on the '72 version of a Telecaster Thinline.
