“From when she was diagnosed, not once did she show any anger, bitterness or self-pity. She worried only for those around her. I was just so proud of her.”

While studying at university, Emily was diagnosed with a rare incurable spinal cord tumour. Just six months later, in May 2021, Emily passed away. Her mum, Lisa, shares their story.

Wow. This is awful. When i was 22 (now 30) i kept getting Bell’s palsy and numb legs, was scared i had a brain tumor (a boy in my class had just passed from GBM). I remember the morning the doc called when im mri came back. ‘Numerous and various sized lesions’. I was so lucky. It wasnt a brain tumor, it was ms. As shit as it is, i feel so lucky.
