Toyota’s all-new RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid combines impressive efficiency with the sort of acceleration the nameplate hasn’t seen since the third-generation RAV4 V-6, though it’s a bit rough around the edges beyond that.

I put down a deposit & have been waiting for over 12 months for my South Carolina dealer to be able to order a RAV4 Prime XSE. Was just told yesterday by the dealer that it may be another three or four years before this car becomes available in this state. Found one listed on the Internet in Marilyn, but for $10k over the sticker price. Heck of a way to sell cars!

The SE model is unrivaled price/eco/performance for a new SUV. Nothing comes close. 32k after tax rebate for a 300hp 94mpge? And that's considering gas stays the same, all experts are saying its going way up, then it becomes even more of value.

One big flaw for me is the 3.3 kwh should have been 6.6 on all trim levels, especially in this price range. Or at least make it an option on lower trim levels. Another thing I have read, is their app lacks the ability to unlock the doors remotely. This makes zero sense in 2021. Other than those two issues, I think the Rav4 Prime is a great option if you are not ready to go full BEV. We just bought a 2021 Sienna, which only offers a hybrid and we absolutely love it. EPA says 36, we are getting 38-41 consistently. If primes were available in my area, I would probably buy one instead of a Model Y. Still undecided.

gotta love the rolling footage as the RAV drives past crappy strip malls. Sad.

Would rather have a Tesla for that price

Fools are buying this car by spending almost 10 K above MSRP to qualify for a 7.5 rebate.

They do not even know why they are buying this car for that price, if for fuel savings why spend so much in advance.

If for luxury, at that price they can get a true luxury brand.

If for power, there are more powerful options for much cheaper.

Not worth it!!! Would stick with the RAV4 limited or an XLE. But the Prime is over price and why would you want a hybrid!! Come on sorry to say you take the hybrid engine out then you just have a regular RAV4. You take the regular engine out and just run it on just the hybrid engine then you barely have enough juice! It’s like driving a Prius! The only way to get that 203 is just the combine both. That’s the secret they won’t tell you! I drove one and didn’t like it! Would love the 2012 Toyota RAV4 Limited V6 regardless if it’s dated! Toyota brings back the V6 but modernize it then it’s a winner! Not interested in Hybrids and never will be!

Way too much money for that dated interior.
