Yeah, I remember watching this fight. I didn't know who Augustus was before this one, but after this performance, he ranks up there with some of the best FIGHTERS I've ever watched!
This was a battle of both skill, heart and respect for the sweet science and both men took the audience on a trip through time, back to when two men stood in the ring and tested each other's mettle from the opening bell to the final seconds, looked each other in the eye and acknowledged their mutual respect for each other, win or lose.

I was at many of Micky Wards fights at Foxwoods Casino. I also met him many times on the 8th floor Lounge at breakfast after fights. I was at Ward vrs Gotti # I at Mohegan Sun Casino. I ALWAYS was a big fan. Micky would take a lickin and give one and keep coming. All of a sudden he would deliver a liver shot that changed everything. Thanks for the memories Micky! 👍😉🥊🥊

WHAT A FIGHT!!! I remember watching this as a kid and the only one that compares to me is Haggler/Hearns. Ward was such a warrior and deserved more from his career...yes I'm from Boston so I might be a bit biased but you cannot deny that mans talent and sheer desire to win. Just a complete beast.
