How to get into University of Wisconsin - Madison

In the late 1990s and early 2000s many said, “Wisconsin is the new Michigan.” This was said in reference to the fact that University of Wisconsin was becoming more selective and popular with each passing year and it was believed to be a great – albeit less selective – alternative to the more selective University of Michigan. These days, Wisconsin is still not as selective as Michigan (though both have come a long way since the 1990s); however, many students choose it over Michigan because Wisconsin has a lot going for it in its own right (and many prefer lakeside Madison to grittier Ann Arbor). In this video, find out how to give yourself the best shot of getting into the hottest college in the very cold state Wisconsin: University of Wisconsin Madison. Go Badgers!

Iowan high school student here going into an art degree..

I’m really nervous…

I have a 3.8+ GPA, NHS
4 AP classes in total, 5+ honors/advanced courses, 14+ fine art credit overload, 13+ after school musical/theatrical activities, TONS of out of school drawing classes/competitions, and musicals….
Oh, and it’s safe to mention I am completely deaf in my left ear due to sudden sensorineural hearing loss back in 5th grade, so it’s been a challenge, but I guess it makes me unique.

However…
Scored HORRIBLY on ACT and SAT, I’ve never been a good test taker.. I got a 22.
I have only taken 3 math courses in high school, but I am willing to take/let them know I will take a summer calculus class if I’m accepted.

I just don’t know if I have a very good chance. I’m unique and would add diversity… but I quite literally don’t have the requirements most have when they get in.
Any tips or ideas? I’d really appreciate if applying to UW Madison is worth my time. Their art department gives me so much opportunity and I would thrive in that environment. I love Wisconsin so damn much and it’s my dream to be accepted.
