It's still the same amazing microphone. The SM stands for shock mount which is the holder that contains the microphone if you'd like to attach it to a boom arm or tripod. You may have made a saving buying this way and cal always buy the shock mount separately I'm sure.

Thanks Mike ! I was so frustrated looking for a clear concise video on the basics of Adobe 3.0. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I'm a fan!

I think I hear what you need and can plan an epic video on this at some point. Thanks for asking the question!

I just bought the AUDIO TECHNICA AT4033a after seeing some of the equipment you use. It's only after that I noticed that it was the AT4033a instead of the ASM. Would you know what the difference is. Have I just bought something rubbish?

Awesome! I've already learnt a lot of tricks and useful stuff with Mike but I'll love to get the basics too since all I know about audio editing was by trial and error.

Hey Mike, just stumbled onto this video. I’m going through my audio for my podcast but I see that you’re using Waveform view. I was trying to add these shortcuts into my favorites but I’m editing my and my co-host audio inside of multitrack view.

Any suggestions on how to add keyboard shortcuts to multitrack view?

Mike, I love the feature where you can mark the file as you are recording.  I am recording directly into an audio recorder (Roland R-05). Do you know if there are any audio recorders that allow you do have the same functionality of marking while recording?  Thanks for your help!

Hi Mike, very useful collection of videos and I thank you for sharing. I have a question. I like to hear podcasts and audiobooks in my car. The problem is that the mp3 files are nornally 15 minutes long and if I turn off the car, when I start again, the mp3 player starts in the beginning of the file instead of for example, minute 9. Is there a way I can easily divide a sound file in 5 equal parts and Adobe Audition save in a batch kind of way to 5 different sequence files. Thanks in advance.

Mike I have a question. My podcast sounds real "open" as if I am in a big room. What settings would I adjust for this in adobe audition?

hi Mike - this is quite an old video so perhaps things have changed. As someone new to Audition I have been watching dozens of videos on how to use it, and I find it really confusing thus frustrating that half of the experts say record in Audio file and the other half say - NO, never record in Audio File as you might easily lose it, always record in Multitrack. Perhaps it doesn't matter that much as you can always switch between the two - I get that. Or may be not. Can you record in either view and then switch to the other without any restrictions? When I am learning something new, I like to follow ONE unambiguous set of instructions. What are your thoughts?

I am learning Audition to edit a 3-Mic podcast. I'm sure I will learn a lot from your tutorials, but the immediate issue I notice is that I am using Audition 3.0 and do not have the same layout/options as I'm seeing in this video. Do these tutorials apply to Ver 3.0?
