For salvation, we just need to follow the way they did it in Acts?
They repented, were baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38!
Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead and walking in the newness of life.
That's what Acts 2:38 is. It harmonizes with Matthew 28:19, and all the other salvation scriptures.
We can't pick and choose which scriptures we like or dislike.
We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOTH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT for a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter the kingdom of GOD.
We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans.
Our salvation has to match up with the scriptures, and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOO long to be WRONG! St, John 5:39, search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church.
It's better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS, and the other is a WORK OF FAITH or OBEDIENCE TO GOD.
If I buy you a cake and tell you to come to get it, and you refuse to, then you won't have the cake even though it's been fully paid for. Christ paid the full price for our salvation. If we refuse to come to him and obey Acts 2:38 as they did, how shall we receive it?
Noah believed or had FAITH, BUT THEN WORKED OR OBEYED TO BUILD THE ARK TO BE SAVED. LOT believed or had FAITH, BUT THEN OBEYED AND LEFT SODOM. This is why Jesus said, He that who believes and is baptized shall be saved. We must believe and obey Acts 2:38. All scriptures have to harmonize together..

Without the orderliness of liturgy, "church" is purely man-made, pleasing carnal desires, and of no good spiritual value. "Let all things be done decently and in order. (I Corinthians 14:40)" True holiness is only that of God Himself, for "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (I John 1:8)" It is only when you "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.... (Psalm 37:5)" that you'll "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. (Psalm 29:2)" "And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)" Liturgical worship is for this purpose and to this effect that "Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (James 2:18)" It is then when, by our actions by faith, and our faith by our actions that "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)"

Do they not realise we are seeing a convergence of biblical prophecy? In the last days there will be apostasy. Your hope is not in this world. Look up! Tell people the gospel so they might be saved.
