He actually sent a televised statement saying he recognized the achievements and bravery of the Wagner group, that's why he forgave charges against mercenaries and allowed Pregozhin to go into exile, an additional reason for immunity is because Pregozhin said he stopped advance because he didn't want to spill Russian against Russian blood, people were greatful to hear that and they showed their appreciation.
