You can't train any animal with anger and cats who are competing for food and unfixed will of course spray the place they can find food to try to mark it as theirs.

She was obviously an idiot as no one needs to starve cats into hunting, that's just what they do for fun. Animals sense your energy and hers was obviously ill.

I suspect those cats were marking the counters because they knew food had a tendency to be around there and they were trying to warn away their resource competitors, namely the humans whose food they had to resort to stealing.

Anyone who's had a hunter cat can tell people that cats will hunt for their own enrichment. They don't need to be motivated by starvation, and in fact, it's much better to just use positive reinforcement by praising them.

Sounds like she was afraid of the dogs aggression when she shouldn’t have had that dog in the first place.. Cane Corso’s are supposed to be aggressive guard dogs. I’m sure she knew that but, didn’t know how to work with them. You do want them to attack aggressive people.. I guess she had that part right lol.

This was a tough one to listen to.
The difference between content, relaxed, trusting animals and those under stress from hunger, abuse, exposure, etc, is so palpable.
I hope your sis got help and her (remaining) animals found their way to the kind of homes all animals deserve.

Nate scared me when me for a second when he said, “I ‘had’ a dog Minion”. Then he said, “I still have a dog Minion”, and I felt so relieved. I hope that Minion lives for many more years to come!!!❤

Hey, I know a lot of people are just talking about her treatment of animals (as they should), but I dont see a lot of folks talking about what she did to you. Im commenting as I watch through the series, so i dont know where this all goes yet, but I hope that you know now that what she did to you wasn't ok. It sounds like things were getting really unhealthy and physical abuse (or any kind of abuse) should never be tolerated. Im sorry you had to go through that.

You cannot train animals if you can't put yourself in a calm disposition. This is why Nate's animals are well-behaved despite being more likely to misbehave because of intact hormones.

Hearing this really contextualises the way you are with your animals. You take such good care of them, training them and you make a point of showing how it should be.
I'm so sorry that you had to witness such a horrible situation and my heart goes out to all the poor animals who had to suffer under Jezebel's "care".

Jezebel sounds like my dad. (He's a cattle farmer) He loves animals, but he also wants to Dominate animals. I think its a Control/Power thing.
