The problem with videos covering all of this is that it also informs resellers of what to do in order to corner the market better.

Resellers in my area are charging more than eBay! It's hilarious their posts never sell

It’s crazy how market place has things for way cheaper than eBay, GameCube go for like 60$-100$ but slackers will sell it for 200$

If only all the best methods weren't locally based. Where I am, FB marketplace is nothing but scams and Google prices. Garage sales are very hit or miss too, but more miss really. I'm guessing most of the people in my area traded their old games in. Low income areas really suck.

It also helps that the resellers here just lowball everytime. So if I actually offer market or a few euro’s below asking they likely accept. And the only person I shared this video with lives at the opposite side off Europe so we aren’t direct competition of eachother

Honestly miss the days when retro gaming, especially gameboys weren't such a huge thing. The problem with hobbies getting huge is it always introduces a large amount of bad actors, in this case shit tons of scalpers.

A similar thing happened to quadcopters: they were once a small niche hobby where some expertise and insider knowledge was necessary to get into it, but once they got more popular and accesible, you had idiots flying them around airports. That caused regulators to step in and in turn made the hobby a PITA.

I'm sure FB marketplace and yard sales/thrift stores work really well in some places but it literally only takes a few "entrepreneurs" to ruin the used game market for a whole city. Our town has a couple guys running around early and they buy up everything just to flip it online. Our big thrift store in town has a guy who rents out a quarter of the store and he spends all day buying up all the video games from the rest of the sellers so he can mark them up and turn a profit.

All listings featured in this video are real deals that were available at one point. Some I scored, others I missed out on. Which of the listings would you have liked to stumble upon?

Biggest tips to use. Block repetitive sellers and filter out searches about $200. Thanks.

I gotta say, your narration and camera presence has REALLY improved since the Pokemon prices video. Not only were all the tips and tricks invaluable, but your passion shines through. As someone who knows how hard it can be to "play it up" for the video, I see can your efforts to become more confident in front of the camera, and it's paying off! I hope to be this confident one day lol. Amazing and inspiring video!

I have mixed feelings about this, while very appreciative for the solid advice, I am also scared of what effect this might have if the video becomes popular and resellers end up watching it. Most good deals are taken within a 2hour window after being posted on marketplace in my area. In order to get anything decent you have to constantly open the app and check by typing vague words to get the biggest search results. The competition part hit me in the feels I've lost count as to how many times resellers have offered 50$ to 150$ more on things that were affordable prior to them spiking the price. Good video on the topic for the sake of genuine gamers I hope it doesn't trend but if it does, it's well deserved keep up the good work 👍

As someone who sells online, I never meet the buyer at my place of living or theirs. We meet in the middle at Starbucks or something. You never know when a buyer could come over to your house and then beat you up and steal everything. People have done that before not to me but I’ve heard it also, you don’t want a random stranger to know where you live. Always be safe and meet at a local coffee shop or something in between both of you.
So for buyers I suggest sometimes just saying hey can we meet at a Starbucks near where you live. That way it doesn’t inconvenience the seller and they’re more likely to sell to you.

I wish this was a thing when I was getting my hands on the ds pokemon games- still remember falling for a reproduction copy of heartgold on ebay even when looking at higher prices in an attempt to filter it out, and then examining things insanely closely the second time around to get a legitimate copy of soulsilver-

Now the only game I REALLY want to collect is just mariokart ds which I am fine paying like 20 dollars for whenever I have the money, so I am not too worried, so I won't really get too much value out of finding these deals though.

But tbh, I probably still will try to use this advice for if I want to get the games for a friend or something (or help them find a good deal), because I WOULD rather someone experience the game for the first time on official hardware than emulation or repros

Two things:

1: thank you so much for the guide, I’ve been buying everything from eBay when starting my collection, and it’s not really as fun when it’s a bag in the mail compared to from a store or from marketplace, not even mentioning the prices.

2: 9:27 as the leader of the tepig fandom this is ruthless slander and we have made peace with snivy long ago
